The Mankrado of Gomoa Asempayin in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Nana Kumasah Krampa II has asked the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama to prioritize the development of the Central region.
He wants the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration to focus on developing the numerous and outstanding tourism sites in the region to promote economic development.
Central region is endowed with vast arable lands and rich deposits of natural resources like: gold, beryl and bauxite in the Upper Denkyira district; petroleum and natural gas at Salt pond; kaolin in the Mfantsiman district and diamond in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa including pigment clay.
Additionally, the region is famous for its palm-fringed beaches, fascinating fishing villages, historical castles, towns and rich natural attractions.
