Member of Parliament elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has called for reforms at Cocobod to reduce spending and financial losses drastically.
To him, it s a worrying development that people who sit in the offices of Cocobod enjoy disproportionate benefits compared to the hardworking cocoa farmers.
He believes that it is time farmers receive what is fair and proportional for their labour.
A Plus who made this known in a post shared via social media said "If this exploitation continues-where individuals who have never seen a cocoa seed grow wealthy while cocoa farmers and their families languish in poverty-farmers will be forced to either sell their land to illegal miners or engage in illegal mining themselves".
