A communications team member of the opposition (NDC), Richard Manuribe, has stated that the ruling (NPP) promised Ghanaians honey and sugar but has delivered a bitter experience to the people. The communicator said that while seeking political power, the NPP, led by then-candidate Akufo-Addo, promised Ghanaians better living conditions, but they worsened the conditions for Ghanaians. He noted that when the NPP refers to the NDC as a scary alternative, it sounds funny because they (NPP) have ended up messing up the economy, amassing wealth for themselves and their cronies, recklessly borrowing, and yet have nothing prudent to show for their stewardship. "We were in this country when someone promised us honey and sugar, that Ghana was going to be transformed. They promised us massive job creation and a robust economy, but we are seeing the opposite of their promises." He asked Ghanaians to trust in former President John Dramani Mahama because he is an experienced leader with the needed skills to help transform the country, create more opportunities, and restore hope. Manuribe said a vote for former President Mahama is a vote for accountable governance, incorruptible governance, jobs, and better living conditions.
