The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the (NDC), Rashid Tanko, has rejected the 's directive for a rerun of elections at a contested polling station in the Dome Kwabenya constituency.

Tanko has insisted that the NDC's parliamentary candidate, Elikplim Akurugu, won the election based on the results from the majority of polling stations in the constituency.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, December 28, 2024, Tanko questioned the EC's decision to call for a rerun, highlighting what he described as clear discrepancies in the 's calculations. "There was a difference of 1,154 votes, and if we are now having a problem with just one polling station, that polling station should be disregarded.

The voter population for that station is 689, so when you subtract 689 from 1,154, you can see where this is headed," he said.
