Mike Ocquaye Jnr, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya, has denied reports that he conceded defeat to his opponent, Elikplim Akurugu, following the recent elections.
This statement comes after the Electoral Commission (EC), led by Jean Mensah, suspended the declarations for the Dome-Kwabenya and Ablekuma North constituencies in the Greater Accra Region.
While seven out of nine constituencies in the region were declared for the NPP, the outcomes of the two remaining constituencies have been forwarded to the EC's management for further review.
The re-collation process was delayed due to the unavailability of critical documents, including some pink sheets, officially known as Summary of Results Sheets, at the EC's Greater Accra Regional office.
