The leadership of the Parliamentary Committees from the NPP caucus is appealing to the National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the current leadership of the majority caucus in the 9th Parliament.

This appeal comes in the wake of the NPP's defeat in the 2024 General Elections, which will see the party relegated to the minority group in the 9th Parliament.

Chairman of the Education Committee and MP for Fanteakwa North, Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah emphasised that the current majority leaders should be retained to assume the new Minority Leadership when the 9th Parliament is sworn in.

He argued that their vast experience in parliamentary proceedings would be instrumental until the party regains victory in future elections.
