Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has called on Ghanaians to appreciate the crucial role journalists play in the country's governance.

Bagbin emphasised the importance of recognising the efforts of media professionals who serve as a bridge between the government and the people.

In his Christmas message on Tuesday, bagbin noted that "We should also thank ourselves, particularly the leadership of the country, our chiefs, the clergy, the elders and more importantly our selfless servants who serve as a bridge, as a link to all of us.

I mean the men and women in the media. "They serve nobody else apart from us.
