A legal battle has unfolded as Wesley Girls Senior High School (SHS) is being sued for allegedly denying Muslim students the right to practice their religion.

The lawsuit, filed by Ghanaian citizen Shafic Osman, accuses the school of systematically suppressing the religious rights of Muslim students by preventing them from observing Islamic practices.

Osman is seeking several legal declarations, including one that the school's policy violates the provisions of Ghana's 1992 Constitution.

The plaintiff's legal team argues that the policy at Wesley Girls, which prohibits Muslim students from practicing Islam, contradicts key constitutional rights, such as freedom of belief and the right to practice one's religion.
