In a move to expedite the marking process and ensure the timely release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, the Ministry of Education has released an additional GHS25 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

This announcement comes after reports of delays in the marking process due to financial constraints faced by WAEC.

According to the statement issued, the Ministry's commitment to smooth examination operations is evident in this additional funding. "The Ministry of Education recognizes the importance of timely WASSCE results for students, parents, and educational institutions," stated Kwasi Kwarteng, Esq., Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education. "This additional funding will support WAEC's operations and ensure the smooth and seamless continuation of marking activities." WAEC has also responded positively to the government's support and has assured the Ministry that the 2024 WASSCE results will be released soon.

The exact date for the release of the results is yet to be announced, but both the Ministry and WAEC are committed to ensuring a swift and efficient process.
