The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has expressed its preparedness for the festive season.
While cautioning the general public to adopt fire safety measures during the festive season, it expressed readiness to combat any emergency situations.
Head of Public Relations, Desmond Ackah, disclosed that the GNFS had about 50% of their fire engines damaged, but they have repaired over 85% of these damaged engines.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5, Ackah indicated that if Ghanaians call their emergency lines, it will take not more than five minutes for them to get to scenes of outbreaks. "Just recently, it was revealed that 50% of our fire engines were damaged, but through the efforts of management, we have repaired about 85% of them.
