President-elect John Dramani Mahama has emphasised the need for Ghana to establish standards for agricultural equipment to improve the sector.

He stressed that sellers of agricultural machinery must provide proper after-sales service to support farmers.

Mahama made these remarks during a visit to his farms in Yapei and Busunu over the weekend. "What we need to do is standardise the equipment and make sure that everybody who is selling agricultural machinery in Ghana is able to offer the farmers after-sales service," he said.

Mahama also revealed his plans to pursue full-time farming upon his retirement from politics.
