The Conference of Heads of Private Second-Cycle Schools (CHOPSS) has expressed concern over the delay in releasing the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.
In a statement issued on December 22, 2024, CHOPSS noted that WAEC has attributed the problem to the Ministry of Education's failure to disburse an outstanding payment of GH₵118,000,000.00, which is urgently needed to resolve the situation.
CHOPSS highlighted the unjust impact of this delay on private school students.
They explained that despite having paid their WASSCE registration fees in full, these students have been denied access to their results. "If not for the breakdown of WAEC scanners, private schools would have requested the Council to release their results independently since we do not owe WAEC.
