The Director of Legal Affairs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edudzi Tameklo, has recounted the immense pressure faced by former President John Dramani Mahama to halt investigations into allegations of corruption during his previous tenure.

Despite the challenges, Tameklo noted Mahama's unwavering resolve to ensure justice prevailed, stating that Mahama famously declared, "The wrongdoing must be investigated." Speaking on Key Points with Alfred Ocansey on December 21, Tameklo emphasized Mahama's track record of accountability, highlighting instances where public officials were prosecuted for corrupt practices under his administration.

He urged the public to remain confident in the processes and assured them that "the day of accountability is coming." Tameklo also took the opportunity to critique the current administration, accusing it of failing to uphold the high standards of accountability set by Mahama.

He expressed particular concern over what he termed misuse of COVID-19 funds, referencing findings by the Auditor- General, which revealed that over GH₵500 million had been spent outside the approved amount.
