The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has described the outcome of the December 7 elections as shocking.
He nonetheless called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to accept and reflect on the loss as they prepare for 2028.
Speaking in an interview with Alfred Ocansey on the Key Points on December 21, Assafuah said he had been optimistic about the NPP's chances in the elections due to the government's achievements in infrastructure development and poverty alleviation policies.
However, he noted that the verdict of the Ghanaian electorate indicates the growing sophistication of voters and their rising expectations. "I was of the utmost conviction that the New Patriotic Party would be given another mandate because of the good policies of this government.
