The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a strong warning ahead of the festive season, cautioning that individuals caught smoking in public spaces will face legal repercussions.
The FDA also expressed concerns about the enforcement of no-smoking regulations in hospitality venues during the busy Christmas period.
As public spaces bustle with activity during the Christmas season, the FDA is intensifying efforts to enforce no-smoking laws.
Speaking to Channel One News at a stakeholder workshop in the Ashanti Region, the FDA's Ashanti Regional Head, John Laryea Odai-Tettey, reiterated that smoking in public spaces, such as restaurants and bars, is illegal and comes with severe penalties.
