Police-Military in Upper East, North East activate 'Operation Calm Life'

The police and military in the Upper East Region and the North East Region have, on Tuesday, August 14, 2024, activated an operation dubbed "Operation Calm Life" at the Upper East Regional Police Headquarters in Bolgatanga. The exercise is a long-standing police-military nationwide operation aimed at building good relations with citizens to combat crime in the various regions. In a short opening ceremony to launch the Upper East Regional Operations, about two hundred and ten senior police and military officers and other ranks drawn from both regions chanted peace slogans amidst singing peace songs in unison, signifying their readiness to work together for the peace of the regions. In his opening address, the Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Raymond Adofem Weijong, charged personnel to be committed to providing peace and security, thus protecting lives and properties in their various Areas of Operation (AOR's) through joint patrols.
