Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader of Parliament, has stated that Ghanaians will soon regret voting the (NDC) into power in the just-ended 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Afenyo, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Effutu, asserted that there is an emerging internal conflict within the NDC, which he predicts could significantly impact the party's future trajectory.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News, he reflected on developments during a parliamentary session on December 16, 2024.

He hinted at growing tensions within the NDC over leadership succession, noting that the party's internal struggle to determine who will succeed former President John Mahama has already begun. "Already in Parliament on Monday, we saw a few things… in Parliament, we see things with our own eyes and hear things… their internal struggle for leadership has started; they have already begun their campaign for who will succeed Mahama," oyerepaonline.com quoted him as saying during the interview on Joy News.
