The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fiercely rejected the recently declared parliamentary election results for several constituencies, denouncing the re-collated results as "illegal" and "manipulated." According to the party, these results undermine Ghana's democratic principles and are a betrayal of the will of the people.
In a strongly worded statement, NDC's General Secretary, Hon.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, emphasized that the party will not accept the results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC), led by Jean Mensa. "The NDC categorically rejects the purported re-collated parliamentary election results declared by the Electoral Commission today," Kwetey stated. "These results represent a blatant assault on Ghana's democratic principles and a betrayal of the sovereign will of the Ghanaian people." The NDC has accused the EC of acting in a manner that compromises the integrity of the electoral process, claiming that the Commission's actions have deepened public mistrust.
Kwetey voiced strong criticism of the EC under Jean Mensa's leadership, accusing them of engaging in illegal practices to favour certain political interests. "It is abundantly clear that the Electoral Commission, under the leadership of Jean Mensah, has consistently chosen a path of illegality and impunity," Kwetey added. "The EC has compromised its mandate and deepened public mistrust in the institution." Kwetey also stressed that electoral crimes have no expiration date, warning that the day of reckoning will come.
