The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has told the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to rescind their decision not to sign the peace declaration. The NPP said that in the spirit of peace and security of the country, the main opposition party will have to reconsider its decision. The National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia had given an indication of the NDC's unpreparedness to sign the peace pact ahead of the elections. Asiedu Nketia said that signing the declaration would not mean anything to the opposition. He argues that previous declarations that were signed did not resolve any issues.
