Christopher Kofi Kyere Sorkpa, a 33-year-old preacher, has been sentenced to five years in prison for vandalizing vehicles at the car park of Ghana's Parliament House.

The Accra High Court handed down the sentence after Sorkpa pleaded guilty to six charges, including conspiracy to commit unlawful damage and unlawful damage.

According to the prosecution, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Sorkpa and his alleged accomplice, Wisdom Ahli, both residents of Kasoa, entered the Parliament House premises disguised as preachers.

They carried a handbag concealing an earth chisel, which Sorkpa later used to smash the windscreens and windows of five vehicles, including two Toyota V8 SUVs, two Toyota Camry sedans, and a Toyota RAV4 SUV.
