President-elect John Dramani Mahama has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure fairness and transparency in addressing disputes over parliamentary election results.

He emphasized that the EC must act in a consistent and principled manner, warning against shifting procedures to favor specific situations. "There are a few outstanding issues arising from the election," Mahama explained. "Nine constituencies are in dispute, and we believe the Electoral Commission must act in a principled manner.

You cannot change the rules to suit the moment and apply different standards under different conditions." Drawing from the 2020 elections, Mahama highlighted how the EC handled contentious cases like Techiman South.

In that instance, the EC declared results amidst chaos and under heavy armed security, despite widespread calls for a re-collation.
