President-elect John Dramani Mahama has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to uphold principles of fairness and consistency in its decision-making processes, particularly in matters related to election results.
His comments follow the EC's announcement that it would not uphold the declaration of parliamentary results in nine constituencies, citing procedural breaches, irregularities, and threats to its staff during the collation process.
The affected constituencies include Ablekuma North, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Techiman South, Dome-Kwabenya, and others.
Mahama criticized what he described as the EC's inconsistent approach to handling similar situations.
