The Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) has accused Joseph Yamin, the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and others of attempting to interfere with bullion bars belonging to the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
The PMMC made this disclosure in a press statement issued on Wednesday, 18th December, following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, 17th December.
According to the statement, the bullion bars in question are part of the Bank of Ghana's Domestic Gold Purchase Programme (DGPP), a key initiative aimed at strengthening Ghana's gold reserves and bolstering the country's economy.
The PMMC revealed that the interference led to a standoff, which required the intervention of the Police.
