The Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) has called on President-elect John Dramani Mahama to clearly outline the mandate of the recently established "Operation Recover All Loot" (ORAL) team, emphasising the need for clarity on the scope and purpose of its activities.
This appeal comes after Mahama announced the formation of a five-member team tasked with implementing measures to recover public resources allegedly misappropriated by officials in past administrations.
The team includes Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as chairman, former Auditor General Daniel Yao Domelevo, retired police commissioner COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Mary Addah, Executive Director of GII, acknowledged the significance of the initiative but stressed the need for more details. "For us, what we would want to see is that he clearly outlines exactly what he wants them to do beyond just saying this is a preparatory measure.
