Ghanaian sound engineer and singer Elijah Nortey Thompson, popularly known as De Thompson DDT, has shared his excitement over the unexpected success of his latest hit song, Honorable Waawe. The track, which became a sensation following the December 7 elections, has brought him unprecedented recognition.In an interview with Amansan Krakye, De Thompson DDT expressed amazement at the song's reception. "The numbers on the digital streaming platforms for Honorable Waawe are very good, and I didn't expect the song to blow so much," he admitted.
De Thompson DDT emphasized that Honorable Waawe has outperformed all his previous works in terms of popularity and reach. "There is no song of mine that I've done which has gone so viral than this Honorable Waawe song because this particular song has taken me very far even beyond Ghana," he remarked.
He highlighted the song's widespread appeal, noting its dominance across various platforms. "Last week, my song was number one on Instagram, and it is trending on YouTube with the video.
The sound has been used so much on TikTok by a lot of people," he said.Surprisingly, the viral success of Honorable Waawe came without any promotional efforts. "I've not even done any promo for the song, but it's trending on the streets.
