Anis Haffar, the founder of the GATE Institute, has called for clarity on the guidelines and vision driving Ghana's education system. He has urged a more coordinated approach among stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective running of the educational sector. Speaking at a forum on the country's Education Accountability Framework (EAF) held in Accra, he expressed concerns about the fragmented operation of various agencies within the Ministry of Education.
"There are so many agencies within the Ministry of Education, but we don't have a clear understanding of what each agency is doing. They seem to operate in silos, where crucial information is held by one entity and not shared with those who need it to progress," he lamented. Haffar stressed the need for a well-defined educational vision that encompasses the responsibilities of all stakeholders, from students, teachers, and school heads to parents and district assemblies.
