The Concerned Small-Scale Miners Association of Ghana has extended its heartfelt congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his resounding victory in the December 7, 2024, Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

In a statement signed by its President, Michael Kwadwo Peprah, the association commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its mining team for presenting a comprehensive and forward-looking manifesto that prioritizes the growth and sustainability of the artisanal and small-scale mining sector.

According to the association, after a careful analysis of the mining policies presented during the campaigns, it became clear that the NDC's agenda aligns with the interests and needs of small-scale miners across the country. "In light of our confidence in the NDC's mining agenda, we mobilized our workers to fully support the party's electoral success.

Before the elections, we closed down our mining sites across various mining districts to allow our workers to vote and actively participate in safeguarding the democratic process, including serving as polling agents and ensuring vigilance at polling stations," the statement revealed.
