Dr. Aaron Kumah, a senior lecturer at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), has expressed disappointment at the silence of President, over his silence on comments by , the Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency. At a recent campaign rally, Acheampong declared for a third time that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would do whatever it takes to win the 2024 elections. Dr Kumah stated that he was expecting the president to condemn the minister for his utterances.
"In fact, I was even expecting President Akufo-Addo to rebuke that gentleman () for such utterances because it has a lot of consequences," oyerepafmonline.com quoted him to have in an interview on Oyerepa TV on August 15, 2024. He further called on Electoral Commission, led by Jean Mensa, to condemn Acheampong's remarks, arguing that such comments could destabilize the electoral process.
"EC should've come out and condemned 's statement that 'we will win power at all costs.
