The Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, has chastised the Christian Council and Civil Society Organisations for their continued and deafening silence regarding the problems that have plagued the country under the outgoing government.

According to him, these once vocal institutions, known for their consistent criticism of previous governments, have disappointingly failed to raise their voices or speak out over the years under Nana Akufo-Addo, despite the glaring issues affecting every citizen. , as he is commonly known, stated that these vocal institutions only seem to find their voices and moral authority when the (NDC) and its leader, , are in power.

He said that despite the ongoing power cuts, they have failed to speak out.

He further added that these institutions are likely waiting to blame the power cuts on Mahama, accusing him of bringing 'dumsor' back to the country once he assumes office as the president.
