Dr.

John Kpikpi, leader of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana, has condemned the outbreak of violence in parts of the country following the 2024 general elections.  In a statement issued on December 16, 2024, Dr.

Kpikpi called for calm and urged all political leaders to take decisive action to rein in their supporters, warning that the post-election chaos threatens Ghana's reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

The recent unrest, reportedly involving alleged supporters of the (NDC) and the (NPP), has seen state properties vandalized and clashes between protesters and security forces over parliamentary results.  Incidents of violence include the torching of Electoral Commission offices in the Eastern Region, injuries to security personnel attempting to restore order, and disruptions to collation processes in key constituencies like Dome-Kwabenya and Tema Central.
