Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has expressed optimism that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will form the majority in the 2028 general elections.
This follows the NPP's defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking on the floor of the House on Monday, December 16, he recounted that in the 1996 election, the NPP was in the minority, but four years later, they formed the majority in the 2000 elections.
He added that in 2012, the NPP was also in the minority, but in 2016, they formed the majority.
