President-elect John Dramani Mahama has emphasised the need for bold and sometimes unpleasant decisions in the interest of the nation.
During a visit by members of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) in Accra on Monday, he acknowledged that some of these decisions might be difficult but stressed that they are essential for the country's progress. "Even though we have an overwhelming majority, we still have to build consensus in the way we approach things.
I am sure the people of Ghana gave us a huge endorsement so that we can take the bold decisions necessary to be able to begin the reforms that this country urgently needs," Mahama stated.
He added, "Some decisions might be unpleasant, and it will all be in the national interest because sometimes you are sick and sometimes you have to take bitter medicine to get well." The GPCC pledged its full support for President-elect John Dramani Mahama in his upcoming tenure.
