Ghana's President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving to be observed annually.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday, Mahama highlighted the significance of dedicating time as a nation to express collective gratitude and seek divine direction for the country's progress.
He noted that such an initiative would foster unity, promote spiritual reflection, and reinforce the nation's reliance on God in overcoming challenges and achieving its aspirations."I have announced that when I become president, I will institute a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving every year.
Every year as a nation we will take time off to pray and thank God and I am going to be a significant part of that thanksgiving," Mahama stated.
