Emmanuel Adotey Allotey, the (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, took center stage during a TV3 debate after his opponent from the (NPP), Emmanuel Tobbin, also known as Tobinco, was notably absent. Mr. Tobbin chose not to attend the debate, citing difficulties with English, which he believed would hinder his participation. In Tobbin's place, three representatives were sent: Dr. Emmanuel Lamptey, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga Central; current MCE Ambrose Tsegah; and immediate past Presiding Member George Darko.
