In a bid to address the long-standing challenges in Ghana's healthcare system, former President John Mahama has unveiled a comprehensive healthcare plan as part of the NDC's manifesto, promising to revolutionize access to care and bring healthcare services closer to the people. With a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, the plan aims to transform the lives of millions of Ghanaians, particularly in rural and underserved communities. As part of the comprehensive approach to healthcare, John Mahama outlined a series of initiatives aimed at improving access to care. "There are some other activities that we planned for us to improve access to care. There is the Pharmacy Care Program, the Pharmacy Program. And what we are going to do under this, the NDC is going to do under this, is to change the regime so that pharmacies can have clinics attached to them." John Mahama shared a poignant story of students who have fallen ill in boarding schools.
