Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has warned the Minister of Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, about attempts to rig the 2024 election. Speaking in Adaklu during a campaign tour by the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, Agbodza vowed that the opposition will not tolerate any conduct that would jeopardize the integrity of the poll. He called attention to the violence that transpired during the 2020 elections, which left eight people dead, and issued a warning that a repeat of that in 2024 would not be tolerated. "The current commander-in-chief appears to lose control to the extent that miscreants in his government are threatening the peace and security of this country. I am talking about my colleague in parliament, Bryan Acheampong, threatening that the sea will burn because they are going to try to rig the elections. "I have a simple message for you, my colleague: just as you have been defeated in the hostile takeover of the hotels belonging to SSNIT, you will surely fail if you attempt to use force to do anything." He also issued a warning to anyone trying to sabotage the poll in the Volta Region, telling them they would be confronted with self-defense and might even end up as victims themselves. "This is Adaklu. You dare not try anything on the life of any Ghanaian.
