Ghana's President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, emphasising that it is here to stay and will be improved.

In an interview with VOA's Paul Ndiho on Saturday, December 14, Mahama dismissed claims that the policy would be scrapped, labelling such statements as political gimmickry. "Free SHS has come to stay and it is not going anywhere.

Nobody is going to scrap free SHS.

What was said was political talk and it was just political gimmickry.
