The spokesperson for the Transition Team of President-elect Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that the joint team has agreed that all significant payments and recruitments should be submitted to them for consideration before implementation.

This is contained in a press release dated December 13. "At the second meeting of the Joint Transition Team, held on Friday, December 13, 2024, it was agreed that all ongoing significant payments, recruitments, and other such activities must be submitted to the Transition Team for consideration on a case-by-case basis," Mr Ofosu wrote.

According to him, "This is to bring clarity to the status of these payments and recruitments and offers an amicable structure for satisfactorily addressing the issues involved." He urged public officials to "comply without fail and resist any undue pressures." This statement comes amid reports that some government agencies such as the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ghana Police Service are recruiting individuals without recourse to due process.
