The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Damongo Constituency, has expressed strong disapproval and concern over a purported declaration of the parliamentary results for Damongo Constituency in the just-ended 2024 December elections.
The NDC described the action allegedly undertaken by the Savannah regional elections officer, as "unacceptable, illegal, and a violation" of the electoral processes that ensure transparency and fairness.
Adam Mutawakilu, National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Damongo constituency said, allegations have been made against the municipal electoral director, who reportedly removed ballot papers from several polling stations without explanation and accountability.
He added that the collation of results in the Damongo constituency was suspended in the early hours of Sunday, December 8, 2024, between the hours of 1:30 and 2:00 am, and has not resumed to date.
