Chaos broke out in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the Greater Accra Region as aggrieved supporters of the (NDC) stormed the Electoral Commission (EC) office, demanding a redeclaration of the parliamentary election results.
The EC had declared Jerry Ahmed Shaib of the (NPP) as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Constituency.
Shaib secured 32,608 votes to defeat the NDC's Felix Odartey Lamptey, who garnered 30,460 votes.
However, NDC supporters alleged that the results were not a true reflection of the vote, questioning the grounds on which the EC made the declaration.
