The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has attributed the party's defeat in the 2024 general elections to internal divisions that undermined its campaign and unity.
The NPP's bid to "break the eight" electoral cycle ended in disappointment, with the party losing the presidency and suffering a significant reduction in parliamentary seats.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Thursday, December 12, Ahiagbah pointed to unresolved issues within the party as a major factor in the loss.
While acknowledging that the government's performance may have influenced voter behavior, he argued that its impact was relatively minor compared to the effect of internal conflicts.
