The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has appealed to the joint transition team to ensure smooth completion of the process to facilitate the necessary financial clearance when a new government takes over from 2025.

President of the GRNMA, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo made the call when she addressed the leadership of the International Council of Nurses in Accra on December 12. "Yesterday the national transition team started their work so the government that was in power was a different political party and they are going out of office and a new political party is coming in.

So we are hoping for a very smooth transition so that come next year everything can move on smoothly," she said.

According to Mrs Ampofo, "…we have a lot of outstanding issues that we will need the Ministry of Health to help us spearhead." The GRNMA President expressed concerned about nurses who are yet to receive financial clearance for employment. "So, the process is in place to employ the 2020 batch, we are yet to see them reporting at their various facilities.
