Kwame Appiah Kodua, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, has been declared the winner of the Fanteakwa North parliamentary race following a recount of the ballots.

The recount was triggered by the narrow margin between the candidates in the initial results.

After re-collation, Appiah Kodua secured 11,751 votes, surpassing the 11,297 votes of Haruna Apaw-Wiredu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate.

The Electoral Commission (EC) ordered the re-collation on Thursday, December 12, after the NPP raised concerns about discrepancies in the pink sheets from two polling stations.
