Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who has been reelected has told the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to welcome all the concerns raised by their members or sympathisers who did not turn out to vote in the 2024 general elections, leading to the party's defeat.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah stated that, in his constituency for instance, there were about 4000 members or supporters of the party who did not vote.
He further indicated that the reasons they gave were the same stories across the country which led to the party's loss. "You will find on the ground that there are about 4000 party members or about 4000 of our party supporters who refused to vote and they explained to us some of the reasons for which they were angry and refusing to vote that kind of allin with the story across the country. "what we have to do is embrace the kind of feedback our members and supporters who didn't vote have given us and go back to the grounds and work with it," he said.
Also commenting on this matter, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea attributed the defeat of the NPP in the 2024 elections to apathy.
