The Joint Transition team to oversee the handing over by President Akufo-Addo to President-elect John Mahama has been inaugurated.
The short inauguration ceremony happened at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
During the state ceremony, President Akufo-Addo extended the handing over notes to the President-elect, John Mahama while assuring that he will ensure the smooth transfer of power to the next government. "I like to assure both of them (President elect and Vice President elect) of the full support of my government and myself of an effective transition and wish them luck and God's blessing in the discharge of their high responsibilities," President Akufo- Addo noted.
Mahama names transition team for inaugural meeting on December 11 The transition processes are firmly grounded in the Presidential Transition Act of 2012, Act 845 which provides the legal framework for an orderly and transparent transition.
