President-elect John Dramani Mahama has said that the preliminary meeting of the Presidential Transition Team was cordial.

Mr Mahama said he is happy with the brief that President Akufo-Addo has given to him.

Addressing the media after the meeting at the seat of government on Wednesday, December 11, he said "Mr President has given me a brief on the security situation both internal and external and also a short brief on issues to do with the economy of course the transitional teams will drill down further on these matters. "I am happy with the assurances that we are going to work together to ensure a seemliness transition.

I believe that even after the transition it will be necessary for us to continue to keep the channel of communications so that Ghana's democratic credentials are consolidated and we all work in the nation's interest." For his part, President Akufo-Addo has celebrated Ghana's achievement as a functioning, effective democratic state which respects the will of the people.
