There are calls on the John Dramani Mahama government to look into the National Alternative Employment Livelihood Programme for illegal miners.
As part of efforts to fight illegal mining, the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo launched the Alternative Employment Livelihood Programme for illegal miners.
The Programme was meant to provide an alternative source of livelihood after the government stopped illegal mining in various mining areas in the country.
At the launch, experts indicated it will cost the state about $10 million.
