Foster Kudese and Jeffery Ayum are visually impaired University of Ghana graduates now working with the Balme Library as National Service personnel.

The two friends have depended on ride-hailing apps throughout their university days.

They maintain that the introduction of the transportation system has been an upgrade to their previous modes of travelling. "As a visually impaired it's not all the time that you have someone coming to assist you to board taxi or Trotro (local intracity Bus). "Before ride hailing apps, we had to wait for someone to come and help you or sometimes save contacts of taxis," Jeffery told 3news' Laud Adu-Asare.

For 26-year-old Foster, the acquisition of a smart phone has further eased his ability to access ride-hailing apps. "One thing the ride hailing apps have been able to do successfully is to make the apps accessible using the speech talkback or voice overs. "I have the talkback on my android, so it lets me know which app to use and where to go.
