The Office of the President has reiterated its directive prohibiting outgoing Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, and other political appointees from acquiring official government vehicles as the administration concludes its term in office.
In a statement signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, the directive emphasizes that no government vehicles will be made available for acquisition by appointees, marking a continuation of the policy first introduced at the end of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's first term in 2020.
The statement highlighted President Akufo-Addo's commitment to accountability and responsible management of state resources, stressing that the longstanding convention of allowing appointees to acquire one official saloon vehicle through valuation by the State Transport Company Ltd.
will not apply under the current administration.
