The Director of Research at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Dr John Kwakye says Ghanaians expect the president-elect John Dramani Mahama to change the country with the overwhelming endorsement given to him.

Dr Kwakye notes that the election result is a clear indication that the Ghanaian electorate can no longer be taken for granted. "Ghanaians have given President Mahama a strong mandate, which he should leverage to prosecute his agenda to change this country," he wrote on his X page.

He added "The massive electoral victory given to the NDC reflects the mood of Ghanaians for change, something that the NPP grossly underestimated." Meanwhile, another Governance Expert, Kwasi Nyarko has cautioned Mr Mahama, not to rush the process to prosecute officials of the Akufo-Addo administration who may have misconducted themselves.

He urged Mr Mahama not to give in to pressure from his people and others who want to see the past government officials prosecuted.
